A new “Rembrandt” painting was shown in Amsterdam last month. It looks very authentic, but in fact it is a new painting that uses technology to copy Rembrandt’s technique so perfectly, that most people could never tell. It took 18 months to complete and is the result of a collaboration between Microsoft and art experts from Delft University of Technology, The Mauritshuis and Museum Het Rembrandthuis. It uses data and technology to recreate the great artist's work.
