RoboCop in Africa

Democratic Republic of Congo robotcopKinshasa is the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It's a very big city with a traffic problem. Last month the city installed 3 robots to help regulate traffic. Each solar-powered robot is equipped with traffic lights and has two cameras in its eyes. The police are using them to watch for drivers who don’t follow the rules of the road.  Is it RoboCop, like the film (the word 'cop' is a slang term for 'policeman')? Maybe not, but it should help make the streets safer.
